Reflection of Light in a Pane Mirror and the number of the image formed

Formation of virtual image by a plane mirror

 1. Good reflector of light
     a. Light ray does not actually pass through the mirror (behind the mirror).
     b. It only appears to an observer as through the ray comes behind the mirror
2. The image is a virtual image

     a. Virtual image cannot be projected or focused on to a screen
     b. Image formed behind the mirror

3. The distance of the image behind the mirror is the same as the distance of the object in front of
     the mirror
     (d1 = d2)
If the bulb  is placed at adistance of 2 metres from a plane mirror, the image will be formed at a distance
of 2 metres behind the mirror
4. The size of the image is the same as the size of the object
If the height of the bulb is 10 cm, the height of the image formed is the same as the object , that is 10 cm.
5. The image is laterally inverted
Althouhgh there is a left-right reversal of the orientation of the image, there is no top-bottom vertical
     reversal .
The Number of the image formed by the two plane mirrors form alpha angle to each other, then the number of the image formed is n = 360/ alpha angle -1
